Kimba |
The weather forecast was for wild and windy so we propped at Kimba for the day rather than drive into a head wind. It's a lovely town on the Eyre Highway, with signs that point out that it's 'half way across Australia'. We've enjoyed our rest day exploring the town and doing some geocaching. Unfortunately it's been a bit wet to attempt the Boora Walk through the scrub near the town but if it's calm in the morning I'll do that before we leave.

On the same lookout I found what I think of as the first sign of spring - some Early Nancy flowers. And also some interesting mosses and lichens growing on the rock and soil pockets.

On the sandy soil by the roadside the yellow wattles are a highlight as they contrast so beautifully with the soil and the grey saltbush.

Great photos, I've never noticed that flower, "Nancy" it's a little beauty.
I really like the photo of the statues from behind.
Also the google not a robot choose the houses thing never likes my answers - is there another option??
